1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how DuckyStudy ("DuckyStudy", "the App", "we", "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the App.

DuckyStudy is a study planner app that includes features such as a study timer, memory notes, flashcards, study statistics, group study rooms, reminders, advertising, and optional in-app purchases.

By using the App, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please stop using the App.

2. Information We Collect

If you use group study features, certain profile and study status information is intended to be visible to other participants in the same room so that the feature can work as designed.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to operate and improve DuckyStudy, including to:

• Provide core features such as the timer, flashcards, dashboards, reminders, and group study rooms
• Create and maintain anonymous accounts, profile state, room membership, and syncing features
• Store and display content you create, such as notes, subjects, schedules, goals, and room activity
• Deliver notifications, including local reminders and Firebase Cloud Messaging notifications when enabled and supported by the feature
• Measure feature usage, diagnose crashes, improve stability, and prevent abuse
• Serve ads and manage ad-related rewards or entitlements
• Process and restore in-app purchases and confirm purchase entitlement status
• Respond to support, privacy, and deletion requests
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms or policies

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Where Data Is Stored

• On your device: certain app data is stored locally using local databases and preference storage, such as Room/SQLite and DataStore-style preference storage.
• Google Firebase / Google Cloud: some account, profile, room, messaging, analytics, crash, and synced app data is processed or stored through Firebase services such as Authentication, Firestore, Realtime Database, Cloud Messaging, Analytics, and Crashlytics.
• Google Play / AdMob systems: purchase, advertising, and related service data may be processed by Google services used by the App.

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, depending on the location of Google/Firebase service infrastructure and your use of third-party services.

5. How We Share Information

We may share information in the following circumstances:

• Service providers: with service providers acting on our behalf, such as Google Firebase, Google Play Billing, and AdMob.
• Other users in shared features: if you join a group room or other shared study feature, your nickname, avatar/profile styling, study status, room goal progress, and related in-room presence information may be visible to other participants in that feature.
• User-initiated sharing: if you choose to share app-generated content or open external links, the selected third-party app or site may receive the information you choose to share.
• Legal and safety reasons: when required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
• Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or asset transfer, subject to applicable law.

For Google Play disclosures, transfers to service providers that process data on our behalf are treated separately from unrelated third-party sharing.

7. Ads and In-App Purchases

DuckyStudy may display banner, interstitial, native, or rewarded advertisements through Google AdMob. Google and its partners may process device/app identifiers and usage information to measure ad performance and, where permitted by law and platform settings, deliver personalized or non-personalized ads.

DuckyStudy also offers optional in-app purchases through Google Play Billing. Payment information is processed by Google Play, not by us, and we do not store your full payment card details.

8. Notifications

The App may use both local notifications scheduled on your device and Firebase Cloud Messaging for certain notification features. Notification permissions are controlled by your device settings and, where available, by in-app settings.

To support push delivery, the App may generate and upload a device messaging token linked to your app account or app instance. Receiving a push token does not mean every user will receive marketing notifications.

9. Data Retention

• Local app data: retained on your device until you delete it, clear app data, or uninstall the App. Android backup or device-transfer features may retain copies according to your device, Google account, operating system, and backup settings.
• Synced Firebase data: retained for as long as needed to operate the App, maintain your account or app instance, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce agreements, unless a shorter period is required by law.
• Push tokens and room presence data: may change, expire, or be replaced over time. We may remove stale tokens or stale room presence records when no longer needed for the feature.
• Analytics, crash, advertising, and billing data: may be retained by Google and Firebase according to their own service retention rules and settings.

10. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of certain data.

• You can edit certain profile and app settings inside the App.
• You can disable notifications in the App or your device settings.
• You can manage ad personalization through applicable Google or device settings.
• You can request deletion of server-side or account-linked data by contacting us.
• You can uninstall the App and/or clear app storage to remove device-local data.

If you request deletion, we may keep limited information where required for legal, security, accounting, fraud-prevention, or legitimate operational reasons.

To help us process a privacy request, please contact us from the email address associated with your inquiry if available, and include enough detail for us to identify the relevant account, device, or room data.

11. Children's Privacy

DuckyStudy is intended for a general student audience. We do not knowingly ask users to provide real names, home addresses, or phone numbers in order to use the core App.

We ask users not to submit unnecessary sensitive personal information through profile fields, memory note content, room names, room goals, or support messages.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information to us in a way that is inconsistent with this Privacy Policy or applicable law, please contact us so we can review and, where appropriate, delete that information.

12. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information processed through the App, including relying on security features provided by Google/Firebase and secure transmission methods where supported.

However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. International Users

If you use the App outside the Republic of Korea, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we rely on the safeguards made available by those providers under applicable law.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App, our practices, service providers, or legal requirements. The updated version will be posted in the App and/or on the website hosting this policy, with the effective date updated above.

Material changes may also be highlighted inside the App, on the listing page, or through another reasonable notice method.
